Consumers are increasingly looking for new and different great tasting products with known provenance and Yorkshire Wagyu beef satisfies that demand perfectly.

Wagyu is the only breed of cattle that is bred exclusively for flavour and eating quality. The marbling in beef is what gives it succulence and flavour and heavy marbling is one of the characteristics of Wagyu. We ensure that our cows enjoy the best of health throughout their life by employing a full-time, on-farm vet, by avoiding the unnecessary use of antibiotics and by feeding the cattle on home grown forage that is grown without the use of fertilisers. We believe that slow grown cattle has a superior taste, so we nurture our Yorkshire Wagyu for over two years. The beef is then hung for 21 days to further improve the flavour and the result is a rich, buttery flavour with a melt in the mouth texture. Once you have tried Yorkshire Wagyu, you won’t want anything else!

Not only does Wagyu beef taste divine, it’s good for you too.

Research conducted in Japan and in America has shown that Wagyu beef has about a 2:1 ratio of monounsaturated fatty acid (‘good’ fat) to saturated fatty acid (‘bad’ fat) compared to other breeds of cattle that have a 1:1 ratio and it is well documented that higher levels of monounsaturated fatty acid in the diet are associated with lower cardio vascular disease.

We are all encouraged to include more foods in our diet that contain Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids (Linolenic Acid) that are found in oily fish and nuts. Wagyu beef is a good source of Omega-3s and also contains a third more Omega-6 (Linoleic Acid) than other breeds.

Wagyu beef is also one of the best sources of Vitamin B, iron, and essential complete amino acids.

Yorkshire Wagyu beef and hand-made burgers are on the menu in selected restaurants and from our mobile ‘Burger Bar’ that can be found at festivals, events and food fairs nationwide.
