Yare Valley Sauces – The Artisan Food Trail

Yare Valley Oils introduces new pesto and horseradish sauces to their range in time for the barbecue season

Well, staring out of the window at the moment it may not look particularly like barbecue weather. Rain, rain and more rain but don’t let that stop you from cracking open a jar of new sauce from Yare Valley Oils because they’re great all year round.

Both sauces use a base of cold pressed rapeseed oil produced on the farm in Norfolk. The combination of the finest recipes and select ingredients (no nasties) go together to make delicious and versatile sauces to use in a multitude of culinary creations.

The pesto uses both British cheese and basil for a tasty twist but keeping the the homely authentic pesto flavour. These together with pine nuts give a rich and creamy sauce but one that also has texture and a little crunch.

As expected it goes well with pasta but is also a perfect partner with vegetables and for adding to sauces. Perk up a pizza, use in dressings and marinades or stir through mashed potatoes. A swirl in tomato soup is super.

For those who like a kick of heat, the horseradish sauce has what your taste buds are searching for. A blend of both British honey and horseradish happily marry bringing a little subtle sweetness.

This condiment complements an array of foods from meats (especially traditional roast beef), fish through to spreading in a sandwich or adding some zip to sauces and stews.

Available to buy online from the Yare Valley Oils website or their farm shop and selected retailers.
